11/22: Dear Friends in Christ, Just wanted to let you know that my stepdad, Jim Fink, has been called home a little more than 30 years after making his Cursillo at Missionhurst in September 1979. The mass of Resurrection was celebrated on All Souls Day at Saint Patrick Church in Smithtown, Long Island, followed by military honors and burial at Calverton National Cemetery. -- Ken Telesca

11/15: Dear friends in Christ, Al Hlavin, my special friend for more than 40 years, husband of my sponsor for Cursillo, and my groupee for over 14 years, has developed a neurological disease which has no cure. Al’s pain is very intense and he is on morphine. Since July, he has lost control and use of his right arm, physical mobility and his speech has become affected. Please pray for Al, and for his dear wife and fellow Cursillista, Martha, as she cares for Al in this time of trial. Pray for me too as I struggle with intense back pain. Peace, -- Jerry John

11/15: Hello Everyone, I hope you can get the word out that a brother who is very involved in the Arlington Cursillo movement can use our prayers and support. Tom (and Kathy) White, my Wolftrap group reunion brother, a past leader and very active member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish lost his daughter Elizabeth on Friday. For the past 29 months our community as well as the overall Arlington Diocese has been united in their love and prayers for Elizabeth. She was a wonderful, energizing 26 year old teacher at OLGC who was fighting Lymphoma. Elizabeth was actually cancer free when she died from complications due to Graft vs. Host disease in her liver and bacterial pneumonia. Arrangements are: Tuesday evening from 6 to 9PM – Wake/Viewing – OLGC Chapel Wednesday at 1PM – OLGC Church – Rite of Christian Burial followed by a reception in De Sales hall There by the grace of God go the rest of us. -- Mike Barrea

This is a definite praise report since they told Ellen and Kevin that James was down syndrome or had CF and had a bowel deformity that would require immediate surgery after birth. Ellen was very stressed since one of their older children had heart surgery after birth and it was a fragile situation. Thanks again for all of your prayers and we PRAISE GOD for this huge blessing for baby James and his family. DeColores! -- Phyllis

10/26: About eight days ago I was released from the hospital in better shape and health and with a feeling of so much love from all the prayers I received---and still feel and receive. There were prayers from coast to coast and in foreign lands.. And those of this Community swelled up to carry me through a touchy heart procedure. I am recovering and am told to get back to full activity, except, lay low for the next two weeks and don't do anything dumb. [No one has defined 'dumb' in my case so I am just laying low] God Bless you all. Peace and Joy to you and your families. Toni and I love you -- Toni and John Rausch

10/12: Just talked to the Rousch's. Johns pacemaker went off on Thursday and the Dr put him in the hospital to regulate his meds. That did not work and today they did an Ablation on his heart to destroy the place in his heart that was causing the problem. It worked and the Dr said there is an 85% success rate for this procedure. He will be in the hospital a few more days. Pray for all of them -- Harry Hardin
