Dear friends in Christ, First, to all who have been praying for her and who have responded so by email, thank you so much. Forgive me for not responding sooner. But I wanted to wait for more complete information.
Yes, she has a new form of cancer – basically a slow growing, surface cancer on the right upper lobe of her lung. We had the pre-op tests, etc yesterday, and surgery for its removal is scheduled for February 22nd at the UVA hospital. They are very good. She will be in the hospital for about five days so I will be out of touch except by my cell phone. If you wish to communicate, please do it by email as Katie gets upset when we/she gets phone calls about the situation. Please don’t discuss it with her. Please keep her us in your prayers.
