Update on Sue Clemente
Friends, I'm with Sue now and she looks great. There really is no update other than they've eliminated a bunch of stuff after 4 days of tests. There are more results to gather and a couple more test to do. Bottom line is she is baffling some of the best rhumatologists, infectious disease, hematologists, pulmonary, dermatology and internal medicine docs here in Bethesda Hospital. They have uncovered a few interesting things, but nothing yet that explains her high fever and low oxygenation levels. We thought it was the pulmonary embolism she had in Jan, but that cleared up, and similar symptoms returned, and then some. So it's probably a lupus flare up of some sort, but ... still looking for the culprit. But the doc "team" feel like they're getting "close." I hope so. Thanks for your prayers and good wishes, they are most appreciated. de Colores, -- Mark Clemente

Prayers for Susan Clemente
Friends, I ask for your prayers for Susan who has been in and out of the hospital since January with some unspecific condition, most probably related to lupus. She had a pulminary embolism, has been running a very high temperture and is baffling the best doctors at Bethesda, so I ask for your prayers to get it under control soonest. God Bless -- Mark Clemente

Pray For Manfred
For Manfred, who continues to experience severe pain in both lower legs and feet since shortly after New Years. After more than three weeks on antibiotics, and seeing a progression of doctors, he has been diagnosed with peripheral arterial disease. An original surgery date of 28 May was given to him, but he has now been given an earlier date for surgery on one leg of 30 Mar; the other, near the end of April. Please pray for a cessation of pain, swelling, inability to sleep, and the anxiety he is experiencing through all this. Also, pray that somebody else cancels so his appointment can be moved up. -- Jack Finnerty

Marty is still at Walter Reed
Marty is still at Walter Reed. Unfortunately, the MRI showed that her tumor is growing again. She is back on the steroids to make her more comfortable, but there are no further treatment options. We would ask that you NOT visit Marty at this time. She is very tired and there are some additional tests to be performed on Friday. Her neices and nephews will be arriving Saturday morning and they will let us know when and where to visit Marty. In the meantime, please continue to keep Marty and her family in your prayers. -- Trudy Dervan

Amazing/thanks for the thoughts and prayers and faith
Hi all, on just long enough to say thanks and all SHALL be well. I could read the clock in the operating room as soon as they removed the laser… something I wouldn’t have been able to doo for the past 45 years unaided. The disparity in vision appears to be workable. Thank you all for everything. I am forever in your debt, and will be praying for each of you. Thanks again, -- Mel

Mel's cataract surgery
I would appreciate our wonderful community’s prayers while I undergo cataract surgery on my right eye on Monday. It’s a bit trickier than the run-of-the-mill cataract removal, but I have faith God and your prayers will get me through this, just as they did when my retina detached in 2008. Thanks and peace, -- Mel Rigney

My crappy heart update -- I'm doing fine
Family and Friends - This will be news to some of you and an update for others. I came in to the hospital about a week and a half ago no w/my v-tac and my difibulator going off. They tried a new med, it didn't work and the docs performed an ablation on Monday, Feb 22. We thought that had worked, but ultimately it didn't. They've tried another medication, one I had to take 3 days with monitoring, but that didn't work either. So they'd scheduled another ablation for me today. We just got some great news though -- as we waited to go down for the ablation, the doc came in and said that my latest course of meds IS working, I haven't had another v-tac since yesterday morning. That means I won't be having another ablation today! We'll be here a couple more days observing me on this new dose and if all stays quiet I should be home by Thursday. Keep the prayers coming - Peace and Joy - John
