Thank you from Jerry John

Dear all, In the middle of the night, a voice in my heart said, “you know I heard everyone’s prayers in support of your plea”. I reread my email and it sounds like it was only me who appealed to the Lord for mercy. OH NO, each and all of your prayers were also before the Lord. I apologize for sounding like only my prayers were heard. I most sincerely thank each of you for your prayers and thoughts for Katie. I just talked to my daughter, Gina, who stayed the night with her and Katie is hanging in there. There is still the big problem with her spine, Please continue your pleas to the Lord. May God bless each of you and hold you close to his heart. Peace, -- Jerry John

Update on Katie John

Dear all, My message last night gave much of the story, but Gina told me more later. Katie’s kidneys were shutting down, her breathing was on the wane, the infection had progressed to her blood stream and Gina did not think she would live through the night. Yesterday was the feast of St. Martha. As is said in the Gospel, Martha said Jesus, I know you are the Christ, the Son of the living God and that you are my god. Lazarus had already died. Jesus went on to raise his from the dead. My prayer also was, Jesus, like Martha, I too know that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God and I totally believe in you. Jesus, you answered Martha’s plea to you, I also ask you to hear my plea to you.
Now, the doctors took a sample of the cyst they found and analyzed the “stuff” from her cyst and prescribed antibiotics for them, along the others she was taking. They also kept her medicated for pain.
When I left last night, Katie was on her death bed, but I wasn’t aware of the seriousness of her condition. However, this morning, when the nurse came in, she was wide awake, talked and joked with her. She was totally cognizant, the pain was gone, she sat up and ate breakfast - the first meal since the 13th of July. Two doctors told me that it was truly a miracle. I thank and praise God. For his love for us and his mercy toward us in our needs.
Katie still has the problem with the two vertebrae and disks, which they are treating with Physical Therapy. They say PT and I tell them that means ‘Pain and Torture’. I think they will send her to the Winchester Rehab Center for several weeks to attempt to build up the muscles around the area to help with that problem. Please continue to keep her in your prayers. Also, I ask you to thank God for his miraculous healing gift. May God bless each of you. -- Jerry John

Prayers for Katie John

Dear friends and family, Just to give you an update. This evening they moved Katie to ICU because she has an infection in a cyst which is where the injury occurred and it was filled with ‘bugs’ which moved into her blood stream. She is also going into a fib. Pray that the antibiotics will clean the blood stream. If not we are in big trouble. Thank God that Gina and here are here to help. I am “pooped’. Please keep up your prayers, Love you all, -- Jerry John

Please pray for Tomas Hillman

Please pray for Tomas Hillman. Tomas made his weekend on the M118th, April 2009. His brain tumor, which has been inactive for several years, is growing or spreading (not too fast, but enough), and has not responded to recent chemo treatments. He will undergo another trial treatment at NIH, which requires a biopsy. The surgery procedure will be on Monday, 2 Aug 2010, at 8.00 am and he will spend probably another day or two more in the NIH. His doctors are hopeful that the biopsy results will allow the NIH to give him a better drug and/or different and more reliable treatment. Tomas is obviously quite afraid and nervous knowing that there is always an risk involved in a brain surgery procedure. Please pray that the surgery is successful, that the results provide a workable and successful course of action for his treatment, and for his confidence and self esteem. -- Jack Finnerty
